What ages is The Tideline Chronicles for?
The series grows with its reader. Books 1–4 are gentle bedtime read-alouds for ages 4–8. Books 5–8 suit ages 7–10, and Books 9–12 sail deeper water for ages 8–12. Every book lists a suggested age range so you always know what you’re picking up.
Is The Tideline Chronicles a Christian book series?
Yes. The Tideline Chronicles is a Christian fantasy adventure series, written the way Narnia and the Wingfeather Saga carry their faith: through story, not sermon. There are no Bible verses or altar calls in the text. Instead, the truth that every child is named on purpose, loved before they arrive, and never lost to the One who made them runs beneath every voyage.
Is it like The Chronicles of Narnia or the Wingfeather Saga?
Families who love Narnia, the Wingfeather Saga, or The Green Ember tend to feel at home in the Saltworld. Like Narnia, an ordinary child crosses into another world where deeper truths wear adventure clothes. Like Wingfeather, it’s one continuous story across the whole series with humor, peril, and a family of characters worth loving. The Tideline Chronicles starts younger than either — the first books work for listeners as young as four. Read the full comparison here.
What order should we read the books in?
In order, starting with Book 1, The Boy at the Tideline. The twelve books tell one continuous story — characters, mysteries, and the sealed bottle all build from voyage to voyage.
Where can I buy the books?
Books 1–4 are available now on Amazon in Kindle and paperback, and they’re free to read in Kindle Unlimited. Start with The Boy at the Tideline. The remaining eight voyages are on the way — email subscribers hear first.
Are the books scary for young children?
The early voyages (Books 1–4) are written for bedtime: there is real adventure — a sea serpent, pirates, storms — but it’s warm, hopeful, and safe to read before sleep. The later books deliberately grow more intense as your child grows, which is why the age ranges rise across the series. If your listener is four or five, start at Book 1 and let the series mature with them.
When do the next books come out?
All twelve books are written. Books 1–4 are out now, and the rest release on a steady schedule. Join the crew email list to hear the moment each new voyage sets sail.
Can my child read them independently?
Yes — the books are built for reading aloud, but confident readers from around age 7 enjoy them solo. Short chapters and clear, musical sentences make them friendly early chapter books.
